Privacy Policy

Effective 16 July 2026

siao is a focus app: you pick apps that distract you, lock in for a session, and optionally share a recap with friends. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we never touch.

What we collect

What we never collect

Which apps you block, or how you use them. App blocking uses Apple's Screen Time technology (Family Controls). The list of apps you select is an opaque token that stays on your device โ€” we cannot see which apps you chose, and no Screen Time data ever leaves your phone. We only store a count (e.g. "5 apps blocked").

Where it's stored

Your data is stored with Supabase, our hosting provider, protected by row-level security so each user can only access their own data and what friends have shared with them.

Who can see what

Your session recaps (duration, date, title, optional photo) are visible only to friends you have accepted. Nothing is public. Blocking a user hides you from each other entirely.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account any time in the app: Profile โ†’ Settings โ†’ Delete account. This permanently removes your profile, sessions, photos, and friend connections. There is no grace period and no backup copy kept.

Children

siao is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes & contact

If this policy changes materially, we'll note it in the app. Questions or requests: hello@siaofocus.com.
